Today I found out something terrible is about to happen, this will devastate to United States of America along with the entire world. The result of this catastrophe will be felt by our children, and our children’s children, and for many generations onward. There is some good news though; we can stop it from happening. If we are going to be able to stop it though, I need your help. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to help defeat anti-choice candidates in this upcoming election. I’ve outlined several key missions below. Hopefully I have reached you in time, and we are not too late to stop it from happening.
Candidates: Christine O’Donnell (R) vs Chris Coons (D)
Mission Details: This is probably one of the oddest races of the election. Republican, candidate Christine O’Donnell is an anti-choice female who is just, well, something else. She’s almost as, dare I say it, George Bush when it comes to that whole talking thing. O’Donnell has so many quotes that make absolutely no sense, or are just plain false, that the Huffington Post decided to make a list here. Some of my favorites include:
- “It is not enough to be abstinent with other people, you also have to be abstinent alone. The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery, so you can’t masturbate without lust.” – Masturbation = adultery, right?
- “I dabbled into witchcraft. I never joined a coven.” – Good to know! I think…
- “The definition of a socialist economy is when 50% or more your economy is dependent on the federal government.” – Umm no.
Besides all of that, she owes over $10,000 in back taxes and she is under investigation for misuse of campaign funds. Looking past her own legal troubles (no matter how hard that is) she is against abortion even in cases of rape or incest and if the mother’s life is endanger, she would let the family decide which life to save, though I’m not 100% sure how that’d work…
Final Note: Chris Coons for Delaware Senate!
Candidates: Ken Buck (R) vs Michael Bennet (D)
Mission Details: There’s not too much to say in this one except Ken Buck is a sexist idiot. This is the man who, as District Attorney, refused to prosecute an alleged rapist. He defended his decision by explain that the victim invited the supposed rapist into her room, and essentially blamed her for her own rape. He said because she invited the man in she was most likely having what he called “buyer’s remorse,” instead of actually having been raped. To make matters worse, the man later actually admitted to having raped the victim. Buck would also like to completely outlaw all types of abortion and even some forms of basic birth control. At times he’s even made comments referring to his views that women are unfit to serve in political offices.
Final Note: Michael Bennet for Colorado Senate!
Candidates: Rand Paul (R) vs Jack Conway (D)
Mission Details: Rand Paul is the son of former presidential candidate, Ron Paul. He has the belief that the civil rights act has served its use, and would vote against it if he ever got the chance. Paul wonders who the government is to be telling business owners that they can’t discriminate and not hire someone because they’re black. He is also endorsed by the guys who run Operation Rescue, the anti-choice group who most famously organized the blockade of Dr. George Tiller’s clinic. As a true libertarian, Paul wants to make the government as small as possible and decrease its control on most things, except your body. It’s been reported that if elected he will immediately introduce a Human Life Amendment making abortion illegal in all cases, along with a Sanctity of Life Amendment which would declare life begins at conception and forbid the Supreme Court from ever hearing an abortion related case. Though those Amendments are unlikely to pass, we cannot risk having a man like this in a political office.
Final Note: Jack Conway for Kentucky Senate!
